Junior Male Rookie of the Year - Theo Christian and James Apostolakis

Junior Female Sportsperson of the Year - Brooke Salzmann

Junior Male Sportsperson of the Year - Adam Engeler

Sporting Club Person of the Year - Steve Robinson and Dannielle Clarke

Best of luck to all these Illawong people.

Rewards Card has started

This season we have introduced a rewards card as we recognise that little athletics requires a lot of assistance from parents each week.   When you assist at your child's  field event have your reward card signed by your age manager.  Every 10th ‘signed event’ will get you 1 free item from the BBQ or 1 free can of drink.

When the card is full place it in the box in the canteen (make sure your name and age group is completed) and at Presentation Night cards will be drawn from the box to win prizes (you’ll need to be there to claim a prize)

The more your help, the more cards you'll complete and the more chance you'll have of winning a prize.

Congratulations to Illawong Coach Brigitte Bannister who has  been  endorsed as one of the 2012 State Team Managers

Note recently ratified changes to Rules of Competition:

D3 – Footwear – U13-17 age groups may wear spikes in all track events (except walks) plus long, triple, high and javelin.

D12 – High Jump – At Association Championships, the bar will be raised by 5cm increments for the first three rounds of competition. After completion of the first three rounds the bar will continue to be raised by 5cm increments until there are 6 or
fewer competitors remaining and increments of 2cm thereafter until only 1 competitor remains.

D18 & 19 – Age substitution State Cross Country & State Road Walks – Athletes will no longer be allowed to go up one age group to form a team.

D21 – State Relays – Athletes in the U12-17 age groups at State Relays may compete in both Track and Field relays, on the express understanding that there is no clash management provided. It will be the responsibility of the athletes to move between events via the marshalling area. No protests will be considered if an athlete misses an event.

Change in implement weights:    IAAF Specification Changes:  the U17 girls shot will now be 3Kg; the U14 girls javelin will now be 400g and the U15U17 girls javelin will now be 500g
